Spiritual Development and Moral Guidance

Girls in need come from many different religions and backgrounds, but all have a common human need for spiritual development and moral guidance.  The Jardίn de la Niña Marίa has a strong spiritual component in the Catholic tradition, allowing girls to grow in faith by giving them a strong foundation on which to build their lives, with a good understanding of the virtues, love and commitment needed to be successful.  All girls are invited to participate in their own spiritual growth by exposure to worship of God, instruction in the Catholic faith (if they so choose), and participation in religious activities at the Jardίn and elsewhere.  However, no girl is ever coerced to participate in any religious activity against her will. 

The staff at the Jardίn works hard to provide solid moral guidance by adult example and by instilling the teachable virtues to all girls in their care.  These include self-discipline, compassion, responsibility, friendship, work, courage, perseverance, honesty, loyalty and faith.  The Jardίn de la Niña Marίa believes that a solid spiritual and moral foundation is just as important, if not more so, for a child's proper development as is a strong family, solid home life and a good education.
